Spaghetti Lover
sequence of drawings 系列畫作
This series of works reflects a personal journey of growth—from self-doubt to gradual acceptance and adjustment,. Finally, to a state of finding joy in oneself and bringing joy to others.
You can see the Spaghetti Girl as a self-portrait of me. At first, having hair that grows spaghetti is both exciting and troublesome. But over time, as she learns how to manage it, she discovers the joy of sharing it with others, both people and animals. The spaghetti transforms to fit different needs—it becomes fluff balls for cats, gift ribbons, and even strings to secure a guitar (as seen in the final piece).
For me, drawing is like this kind of ability. As I gradually learn to harness my gift, I can use my art to spread happiness to the world around me.
Everyone has their own kind of magic—what’s yours?
